How we handle your data
Last updated 3 September 2026.
Verity Search is committed to handling personal information responsibly and in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws. Any information submitted through this website will be used solely to respond to enquiries and provide our services. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties except where necessary to deliver our services or where required by law.
Who we are
Verity Search Ltd (company number 15813873, registered office 4 Roundle Avenue, Bognor Regis, West Sussex PO22 8LQ) is the data controller for personal data processed through this website and in the course of executive search work. Contact: ian@veritysearch.uk.
What we collect and why
- Enquiries. If you ask to book a call, the request is composed in your own email app and sent to us by you. We hold your name, contact details and the reason for your enquiry to reply and to arrange the call (legitimate interests).
- Clients. Names, roles and contact details of the people we work with at client organisations, plus the information needed to run a search (contract and legitimate interests).
- Candidates. Career history, CVs, contact details, the notes we make when we speak, and the outcome of any process you are part of. We process this to introduce you to opportunities and to keep in touch about relevant roles over time (legitimate interests, and consent where we ask for it). Appointments to regulated roles may involve additional checks that we will explain to you first.
- Website visitors. Cookieless, aggregated analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) — pages viewed, country, device type. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking.
Where your data comes from
From you directly, from public professional sources such as LinkedIn and Companies House, from referrals, and from our own records of previous conversations.
Who we share it with
Candidate details are shared with a client only with your agreement and for a specific role. We use trusted suppliers to run our business (email, document storage, our recruitment database and website hosting), each bound by contract to protect your data. Some suppliers process data outside the UK under UK-approved safeguards.
How long we keep it
Enquiry details: until the matter is closed and for up to two years after. Candidate records: while we are in touch and for a period after our last contact so that we can approach you about future roles; we review records regularly and delete what is no longer needed. Client contract records: for the period required by law after the engagement ends.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict our processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email ian@veritysearch.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We will update this policy here when our practices change. The date at the top tells you when.
